A thrilling and well crafted mystery that had me reading waaaaay past my bedtime!

{ 3 Reasons Why You MUST Read Zero RIGHT NOW! }

the mystery.
This is definitely Zero's greatest strength. Its mystery was completely thrilling. It had me thinking A LOT. I had A LOT of theories/speculations (and some of which are completely far-fetched. lol. But you never know, right? haha). There were also several times when I'd just complain about how will the author get out of this thing? Just how will she justify these actions to me without me hating the whole idea of the book? Just. How.

I'd tell you right now, Morgan Dark wrote a really intriguing mystery that kept me up at night. This is one of those books that's really, really difficult to put down because I was always so excited to know what happens next. I even found myself actually holding my breath because of its riveting pace. I was highly intrigued!

The mystery was also well resolved. It left me more than satisfied. At first, as I said, I doubted the author will give a satisfying justification for everything. But I was stand corrected. I found myself completely speechless at how she basically explained everything from start to finish and why things happened. It was all very interesting. There were no plot holes! Nothing left unsaid! (except maybe the further explanation of its 'fantasy' side. like where that came from. possibly in the second book.).

the thrill.
The million-dollar thief, Zero, is framing Kyle of every single thing he steals. Why? It's revealed later in the story. Kyle is a suspect. A detective is constantly following him. Trying to find a way to catch him in the act or find some kind of evidence against him. Kyle has to find a way to prove his innocence. BUT it's difficult to do so when Zero leaves him with all things stolen.

That's where the thrill happens.

The first time Zero presented his presence to Kyle, I was super intrigued. I'm basically like: why even? Why this kid? WHY? Then, when Zero left his first stolen item to Kyle, I was like: how? How will he get away from this? Why is this Zero guy trapping him!? Will Kyle get caught? -- I think all of this as my eyes widen, my hands gripping my ereader so hard, and actually holding my breath until the storm passes.

the main character.
Kyle sounded like a real ass in the beginning. LOL. He's supposed to be one of those elite students (of an elite school, lol) anyway. It was perfect for his character. But when Zero started ruining his life, he just felt like a normal kid trying to find a way out of a mess. And that's fine because what else can you do in such a situation?

ANYWAY, in an all honest opinion, before everything was revealed, Kyle felt a bit bland if you look at him as a character and not the misfortune he's facing. It's like he'll just get lost in the sea of male main characters. But by second half of the book, Kyle showed just how much wit he has. I liked him and I like how determined he is -- the things he will do to accomplish something, the things he went through to get where he is right now.

OVERALL, Zero is a really riveting read with a well written and intriguing mystery. The fantasy-side of the story is very interesting and I definitely would LOVE to know more about it!! The ending was really nicely laid down and was completely satisfying. There are probably a few things I cannot mention in this review but that's strongly because it might spoil things! Just trust my words for its awesomely written and satisfying and thrilling mystery!! Zero is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READ!!
