OCTOBER BOOK HAUL (aka my unexpected buys haul)

unexpected hauls.
Murder at the Book Group by Maggie King | Everlost by Neal Shusterman | The Midnight Star by Marie Lu | Holding Up the Universe by Jennifer Niven | Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo | Rescue at Lost Baños by Bruce Henderson
Hello,

I said I'll be gone by October but then I still have unfinished business. So I'll probably take up the next couple of weeks of November to post around four reviews -- one YA contemporary thriller and three adult mystery-thrillers. After those, I'll work on my new book blog to be shared on 2017. I'm honestly excited for that :)

For now, here are the books I unexpectedly acquired last October :)

AUGUST BOOK HAUL (aka the Birthday Month Haul)

birthday haul.
S.  by J.J. Abrahams & Doug Dorst | Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel | The Passage by Jutsin Cronin | Every Exquisite Thing by Matthew Quick | The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson | All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr | In Gallup, Greed by Tower Lowe (not in photo)
Hello,

My birthday month was a mixture of good things and not so good things. First off, these books I got came from my dad who's totally supporting my reading hobby. I was about to get A TON MORE BOOKS but decided not to (had to drop a lot which includes ACOMAF and The Wrath and The Dawn and Dark Matter and a few more). I really don't think it's right to take soooo much -- I mean take advantage of the offer. I don't even know why I'm like that. I'll get those books some other time. I'm sure of it.

Second, I mentioned in my last weekend reads post that things have not been going well with my undergraduate thesis. I'm having some issues with this thesis group mate and friend. It's quite difficult to tell her that she's doing things wrong. My other group mate and I keep on telling her that we don't need this, we have to scrap this, blah-blah-blah. She doesn't listen. I want to save you, friends, all the trouble. So I'd just say that things are not going well for us and we're completely off schedule and I'm trying not to be angry at her.

JULY ROUNDUP (aka AmyandAndreainPH + BookwormsUnite2.0 Month)

books.
Hello,

July was a rather chill-out blogging month for me. I decided to lay low, read, and look at what's ahead of me this semester. Basically, I'll just have my thesis as my biggest worry. So much excitement for that. hahaha. not.

JUNE BOOK HAUL (aka the successful book buying ban haul)

only book i got. won not bought!
The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi

Hello,

I.am.so.proud.of.myself.

I didn't brought out a single cent for a book this month. Can you believe that? Well believe it because it did happen. The only physical book I got this month is The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi. It's now on my tbr shelf. If you want me to read this book for the read-a-thon this July, vote here. I'm excited for this book I keep on setting it aside though. Anyway, the following ebooks below were bought using my remaining GCs, received from a giveaway, and author newsletter subscriptions :)

MAY BOOK HAUL (aka almost bought nothing haul)

Hello,

It's not every month I'll have the ability to stop myself from visiting a bookstore and practically grab everything. I'm really proud of myself this month. May had sooooo many good releases and I really want to grab a book each time a visit. Luckily, I only grabbed one (really just need to get this one because this isn't something I always see in local bookstores). It's Dead Wake by Erik Larson. It's a non-fiction novel about the sinking of the RMS Lusitania. I've come to really LOVE history which is why I am more than willing to read even non-fictions just to learn more. Don't you ever get that feeling?

Anyway, I got The Cure for Dreaming through a twitter giveaway hosted by Renu from The Page Turner (Thanks again, Renu!!). I've only read one book by Cat Winters - In the Shadow of Blackbirds and I really liked it. Here's hoping I'll enjoy this one as well :)

APRIL BOOK HAUL (aka can't stop buying haul)

The Last of the Firedrakes by Farah Oomerbhoy | The Secret Language of Sisters by Luanne Rice | Girl in the Blue Coat by Monica Hesse | The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner | Anna and the Swallow Man by Gavriel Savit | The Seven Dials Mystery by Agatha Christie | Querna Dose by C.C. Gaño | Unbound by Neal Shusterman | A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis

Hello

April marks the official start of my vacation. This also means more time to read and more active in blogging! This also means not much money for books. So yeah... But that's completely fine. I still have more books to read for the span of my possibly 3 months of vacation. Enough physical books and ebooks to read :)

MARCH BOOK HAUL (aka the-last-month-of-school haul)

ignore the bloodydamn rubik's cube.. I was preventing Cruel Crown's cover from flipping up :P
Cruel Crown by Victoria Aveyard | Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys | Morning Star by Pierce Brown

Hello,
I'm a couple of weeks away from my summer vacation. I really can't wait for it!! It means more time for myself, for skills improvements, and for reading! I dropped by Amazon Kindle eBooks a few times this past month and came out with several new reads. And they were all FREE! I also got School of Deaths from a giveaway by Haraiah @ Random Things in MotionEarthbound and After the Winter by Mark R. Healy by simply joining his mailing list, Better Off by Yesenia Vargas by joining her mailing list, and Transcend Saga Box Set by Michelle Madow through the same way.

The list of my new ebook reads is really, really lengthy. I kind of ended up with a combination of different YA genres and adult mystery thriller (it's still mostly YA though). I also downloaded a couple of review copies that interests me but are somehow off my comfort zone. I'm sure I'll never finish all of these during my vacation. But crossing my fingers that I'll be able to read a good amount of them :)

FEBRUARY BOOK HAUL (aka been-waiting-for-these-books haul)

The Monogram Murders by Hannah Sophie | Afterschool Charisma, vol1 by Kumiko Suekane | Falling Into Place by Amy Zhang | Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige | Winter by Marissa Meyer  | Stars Above: A Lunar Chronicles Collections by Marissa Meyer| Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard

Solstice by Jane Redd | Unforgiven by Stephanie Erickson | Undivided by Stephanie Erickson

Hello,

Let me first start by saying I'VE BEEN WAITING TO GET MY HANDS ON Winter and Stars Above!! When I had my sister to buy it for me, I was soooooo glad that she was able to do so. A couple of more books are still not in here though. I had my sister get Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys for me and it's still with her AND I ordered Morning Star from the local bookstore, Fullybooked, and it will arrive a couple of weeks from now.

JANUARY BOOK HAUL (aka the New Year Haul!)

The Rose Society by Marie Lu

Hello,

New Year is long gone. Okay, a month gone.. A lot of things already happened. I'm saving up all over again but I'm still not placing myself on a buying ban. That will happen on June or July (preparation for MIBF2016). But I'm really proud of myself for not buying anything for the entire month (except for my 16-color Prang Watercolor. It was my personal gift for getting in the Dean's List. Yay Me!).

I'm so glad that the local bookstores finally had The Rose Society. I got it late December so it didn't make my December Book Haul post. It took FOREVER!! Now where's Winter? That's the other book I'm hoping to find.

DECEMBER BOOK HAUL (aka the Christmas Books!!)

Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger | On Such a Full Sea by Chang-rae Lee | Dumplin' by Julie Murphy

Hello,

Merry Christmas!! Happy Holidays!!

I am so glad at myself for not buying any books and not downloading anything from Netgalley this month. These three are gifts from my friend, my sister, and my mom. I got so excited when I got Dumplin' because it's one of the books I've been hoping to get!

NOVEMBER ROUNDUP (aka the back to UNI month!! but not really!)

current reads!!
Hello,

November was supposed to end well. It was the ending of my vacation, the beginning of a new semester, and a successful personal reading challenge for me but things didn't go that well. Before going back to university, I got really, really sick. I was struck with dengue and was hospitalized for a week - one of the craziest (and scariest) eight days of my life. ugh.

Right now, I'm catching up with my reading, blogging, and school works. My mind's cooperating with me lately so somehow, I think that I'll be able to finalize several of my reviews from a week ago this weekend or throughout the coming week, hahaha.

Hello,

...and YAY for a (somehow) successful book buying ban! I only bought The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas and  an e-book copy of The Queen of Tearling because it's only $3.99 which is crazy (it was even $1.99 a week before I bought it. ugh.). Anyway, I'm really glad about that. The rest of my e-books, as usual, are free from Amazon. The last two, The Standout and The Dead List came from kindle scout and the Queen of Tomorrow is a book I won from Eileen's blog, BookCatPin

Hello,

So yeah, this is my largest book haul yet. I don't buy so much books each month but since it's the month of Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), I just had to splurge. Take note that I don't always do this. I don't spend thousands of pesos to buy books in one day. I honestly find it quite crazy (which is why I only buy one or two books a week).

AUGUST BOOKHAUL (aka THE BIRTHDAY MONTH HAUL)

Hello,

August is my Birthday month. In case you missed, I celebrated my day by recommending my fave books, anime, and music and hosting a giveaway (PH only) to you guys. I've been busy as usual but I had a great month. My friends gave me great gifts and my sister brought took me out and we went to a bookstore. She bought me books and I was so happy to find Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman. I honestly did not expect to find it :D

JULY BOOKHAUL

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas | Red Rising by Pierce Brown | Made You Up by Frncesca Zappia

Hello,

I've become very  busy once again. I hate it when this happens. Not only can I not blog regularly but I also can't read so much. School works get piled up easily and I get tired so quickly. It's either I sleep so early because of fatigue or not sleep at all because of too much things to do. But yeah, I'm still here and hoping that the next month will be better for me.

I didn't bought so much books this month. So proud of myself! :D I bought Made You Up and A Court of Thorns and Roses at the end of June but wasn't able to share it on my June Book Haul. So I decided to add them here. I also bought an extra copy of Red Rising...
