[Flashback Friday] Bakuman.

Flashback Friday is a weekly post where I talk about a book, manga, or anime series which I’ve seen years ago. This is more like me reminiscing on stuff I come across way back then.

Author: Ohba Tsugumi | Illustrator: Obata Takeshi
Manga Publisher: Shueisha (Weekly Shōnen JUMP)
Licensed by: Viz Media
Anime Director: Kasai Kenichi, Akitaya Noriaki
Series Composition: Yoshida Reiko
Animation Production: J.C. Staff
Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi are pretty much foils of each other. Mashiro, an average 9th grade student but talented artist, and Takagi, an overall advanced 9th grader and aspiring writer. After great convincing, Takagi convinces Mashiro to join him in becoming the greatest mangakas Japan has ever seen. Takagi, with his gift of writing, hopes to become a successful mangaka, and Mashiro, with his gift of art, hopes to marry the girl of his dreams, Azuki Miho.

Bakuman. is perhaps one of the few anime (and manga) that I’ll always be fond of watching (and reading) over and over. In fact, Bakuman. 2 will forever be in my fave anime list. It involves JUMP’s core values of friendship, hard work and victory, executes those values well, adds unforgettable characters, and wraps it up in a very inspiring story of 2 boys achieving a dream in 10 years time.

How anime continues to encourage me.

Seiyuu Appreciation: it's the genius-perverted-highschool-alien!

Following up my first seiyuu appreciation post a week back, the next voice actor I decided to write about is Okamoto Nobuhiko.

To those who have been reading my blog back then, it's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Okamoto. I think that Okamoto Nobuhiko is best known for his role as Accelerator from To Aru Majutsu no Index and Usui Takumi from Kaichou wa Maid-sama!.

-blacksheep's small and growing collection of anime figures.

Last Saturday, I was cleaning up my room and decided to re-arrange my stuff. I pictured it so that I can share it to other people as well(: Now let me go through my small collection.

~on some side notes, by December 20, I'll be back to regular blogging. I'll try my best to give an update or reviews on the series I watched for the season.

Bakuman. 3 05: just how much length would one go through to get something?

~another late post. I'll go watch ep6 tomorrow(:

Honestly speaking I was never a fan of Shiratori Shun (Iguchi Yuuichi). I find his arc pretty boring when I read it back then and I still have the same view now that I've watched it. But despite how much I find Shiratori uninteresting, his arc can be viewed in an inspirational way.

Bakuman. 3 03 + 04: PCP could be a good manga, Ohba-sensei should write it as his next masterpiece with Obata-sensei.

Double post for Bakuman. 3! Sword Art Online would have the same treatment. I was really busy with school last week and I was also re-watching a couple of series and still finishing Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. HAHA.

Bakuman. 3 02: Ashirogi's in a pretty tight spot. Nice going Iwase, now they're really in trouble.

I'll be a boy forever. That's why I draw shounen manga.

This episode has been focused solely to the development of the art of Ashirogi Mutou's PCP. It's for the improvement of their rankings~

Bakuman. 3 01: When you're in doubt, be true to your feelings

exactly my face while watching this episode

I think that Bakuman.'s comeback episode isn't my fave OP episode this season. Although I have to admit that J.C. Staff has done a great job in continuing the series. Everything still has the same feeling (and I do mean everything because the BGM seem to not change at all. LOL).

The Anime Blogger Interrogation Game

I'm not really the type to join stuff like this but I don't really want to ignore a tag as well. Besides, these random question from blogger to blogger seems pretty interesting(:

Thoughts on 'Thinking about the future', 'Making decisions' and 'Reaching dreams' inspired by Bakuman.

I was re-watching Bakuman. for like the 4th time already and no, I'm not getting bored with it. Watching this series has always been making me think about how my current life is going. Whenever I look back on this series, it makes me look back on myself and what really is my aim right now. Am I doing something for it? OR am I just doing an all-talk-and-no-work at all?

-blacksheep's Top 10 Anime

Pardon me for my lack of experience with enough anime to make an amazing list like other people was able to do so. With around 1.5 years of strictly following seasonal anime and occasionally watching anime when I was a kid, I'm pretty sure my list isn't as outstanding as most people are.

-blacksheep's Top 3 Anime for Winter2012

Spring 2012 anime season just started and I'm really excited for all the new shows. As for Winter 2012 anime season which just ended, I have mixed emotions on the series that I just finished. Not that I've finished a lot.

Bakuman 2. (series review)

The main reason why I got interested in watching Bakuman is that it's an anime about writing manga, reaching their dream to become the number 1 mangaka and have an anime. Bakuman turned out to be a really moving and influencing anime and manga for me.

Bakuman will go on a third season!

As a huge fan of the manga itself, I sure can’t contain myself when I read the news from ANN that Bakuman will be having a third season next fall.

Bakuman 2 – Episode 8 & Episode 9

AND so, without even reaching the second half of the series, TRAP ends. With that said, I’m thinking that the second half will begin with their new series. Ohh, I can already see the ending :D

Bakuman 2 – Episode 7: Life-and-Death and Standstill

The editor-in-chief has finally made up his mind regarding on what to do about TRAP’s serialization and it on the looks of things, it’s not going to be good.

Bakuman 2 – Episode 6: Sickness and Determination

As expected from what happened last episode, Mashiro-kun was brought to the hospital. With that, what’s going to happen to Trap’s serialization?

Bakuman 2 – Episode 5: Comedy and News

Seems to me that Mashiro and Takagi’s decision of keeping Trap the way it is worked out really well. But then, with five episodes, who said it’s already going to be a happy ending. By the end of the episode, another problem rise.

Bakuman 2 – Episode 4: Support and Patience

So who’s guessing how long Trap will last under Miura’s hands? For the record, the more episodes I see, the more I get pissed off with Miura. Who knows, he might say next, “Trap is in 17, don’t’ worry it won’t get cancelled.”

Bakuman 2 – Episode 3: Window and Snow

I was never a fan of Nakaii-san but when this episode is presented in a way you’ll seriously feel what’s happening, I can’t help myself but feel a little sorry for Nakaii-san when he found out that Aoki will be working with Koogy to write another manga.
