After seven years living as Alexandra Gastone, Milena Rokva is now free to be her true self, if only she knew who that was or had time to find out. Milena is in a race against time to bring down Perun, the very organization that trained her as a spy. Perun is no longer content to use their network of sleeper agents to protect her homeland and is maneuvered to take control of the world’s energy markets, sending the globe into chaos.
Working with her surrogate grandfather, Albert Gastone, his CIA friend Brad and her old handler, Varos, Milena finds herself embroiled in an epic spy game teamed with friends whose endgames do not necessarily align with her own. The only person Milena can truly trust is herself.
Can Milena take down Perun, protect her fellow cadets and make a life for herself with her boyfriend, Grant, as well as the friends and family she’s come to love as Alexandra Gastone? Buckle in for a wild ride as the Alexandra Gastone duology comes to a close.

Check out my review of book #1, They Call Me Alexandra Gastone. There are no spoilers on this review if you haven't read the first book, I promise :)
Action-packed. strong heroine. too much twists. unforgettable ending!
Milena's identity crisis + personal dilemma.
Milena's identity crisis, her struggle to really know herself felt like a natural problem. Given that she lived for years as Alexandra Gastone until the events that lead to the end of book one, trying to figure out which parts of her life is actually Alexandra Gastone and which parts is Milena Rokva was a really great aspect of the novel.
Identity crisis aside, Milena also thinks about her life after everything is finally over. Will Albert still care for her? Will he kick her out of his life if Alexandra told him to? Where does she really fit in all of these things? There's just so many things going on in her mind yet the good thing is that it never really overwhelmed the story.
Romance!
I LOVE how the romance is there and how it's not being all over the book. Milena, of course, thinks about that. It's part of her HUGE dilemma. Grant is an awesome guy but a bit suspicious in his intentions if you look at his background (it's a book one thing) and I really ship him to Milena. I like how he really tries to make their relationship work despite things he found out about her. Then there's Varos who Milena knew from childhood. While their relationship felt like a brother-sister kind of thing there are, of course, signs that there could be more to them. The same thing goes for CIA agent (revealed later on in book one), Brad.
The closure of the romance was really well written and possibly one of my favorite aspects of the book. It basically gave me so much emotions from feeling extremely sad, to shipping so freaking much, to simply going 'awwww' with a stupid grin right on my face.
Action-packed.
This book really kept me at the edge of my seat when it comes to action scenes and there are A LOT. Milena basically looks for trouble and there are just so much running and chasing and guns firing in this novel.
Too much twists to handle!
Similar to the book one, My Name is Milena Rokva is also packed with many plot twists - some are kind predictable but are well revealed and others are just totally surprising. With the number of plot twists I encountered, I honestly overthink a bit on this one but still ended up getting surprised at some of its twists. Just gaaaahhh!!!
The feels!
It's not overloaded with feels but towards the end, it basically made me soooo sad for the revelations. I. was. just. sad. and maybe tear up a bit because HOW CAN YOU NOT? I LOVE Milena and Albert's relationship. It's possibly my favorite thing in the first book and when we touch that subject, I just get a bit emotional. I'd say that the emotions that this book pulled from me came from how well Maclagan developed Milena and Albert's relationship.
That ending is too great!
Let me tell you something, I found out that T.A. Maclagan was previously a spy. I really like how everything was given proper closure - how they all ended really well although a bit painful for some but I'm genuinely happy for everyone for finding their places in the end. The epilogue was so beautiful. It held a little secret surprise in the end that I really, really, really just made me smile.

OVERALL, My Name is Milena Rokva is an action-packed thriller with a great amount of twists. It involves a strong and stubborn heroine, a nicely written romance (do not worry about the triangle, believe me), hiding and spying and gunning and running, and a really beautiful written ending that will stay in your mind long after you've read its the last words.
~I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review~

T.A. Maclagan is a Kansas girl by birth but now lives in the bush-clad hills of Wellington, New Zealand with her Kiwi husband, son and four pampered cats. With a bachelor’s degree in biology and a Ph.D. in anthropology, she’s studied poison dart frogs in the rainforests of Costa Rica, howler monkeys in Panama and the very exotic and always elusive American farmer. It was as she was writing her ‘just the facts’ dissertation that T.A. felt the call to pursue something more imaginative and discovered a passion for creative writing. They Call Me Alexandra Gastone is her first novel.
