[Waiting on Wednesday] The Cure for Dreaming

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases can't wait to read.

Title: The Cure for Dreaming
Author: Cat Winters
Genre: young adult, historical fiction, paranormal, fantasy, urban fantasy
Expected Publication: October 14, 2014
Synopsis:
Olivia Mead is a headstrong, independent girl—a suffragist—in an age that prefers its girls to be docile. It’s 1900 in Oregon, and Olivia’s father, concerned that she’s headed for trouble, convinces a stage mesmerist to try to hypnotize the rebellion out of her. But the hypnotist, an intriguing young man named Henri Reverie, gives her a terrible gift instead: she’s able to see people’s true natures, manifesting as visions of darkness and goodness, while also unable to speak her true thoughts out loud. These supernatural challenges only make Olivia more determined to speak her mind, and so she’s drawn into a dangerous relationship with the hypnotist and his mysterious motives, all while secretly fighting for the rights of women. Winters breathes new life into history once again with an atmospheric, vividly real story, including archival photos and art from the period throughout.

I’ve read Cat Winter’s In the Shadow of Blackbirds and really enjoyed it. After hearing her new novel, I got really excited about it. Together with The Cure for Dreaming’s really interesting synopsis and beautiful cover, I think it’s definitely worth the reading (and getting excited for!).

I LOVED In the Shadow of Blackbirds, so I'll pretty much read anything by her now, but it helps that it sounds so amazing anyway, and loving the cover, even if it does creep me out a little, haha. :)

that cover sure is creepy and I actually like it the moment I saw it... and yes, it sounds amazing.. I've never really read so much paranormal novels but if it's by Cat Winters, I'm pretty much sure I'll read it as well :)

Yes, Blackbirds was really great and because that I also don't want to pass up anything by Winters. I also love the photos. I've never heard anything about the Cure for Dreaming having photos, but I do hope there'll be :D
