True to its words, The Girl In the Ice is a suspenseful read that really made me go through it page after page. It's completely unputdownable!

{7 Reasons Why You MUST Read The Girl In the Ice}

DCI Erika Foster is a badass main character you'll love right from the beginning.
Erika just came back from a break because of her recent case which also killed his husband. She sometimes get this soft side but more often than not she's serious and always focus on her case. And maybe a bit aggressive when conducting interviews.

Marsh paused. 'I say it because it's true. Also, because I can see how this is going to end. You're going up against powerful people here, and the odds are not in your favour.'
'Sounds very Hunger Games...'

The odds are never in her favor.
The bloodydamn The Hunger Games was quite unnecessary but still made me smile. Okay, there are times when detectives are doubted by their colleagues but DCI Foster's boss is ALWAYS doubting her. He's barely in her side. He doesn't trust her leads. He. Just. Want. Her. To. Stop. But NO! DCI Foster doesn't give up so she continues her investigation despite everything. You will surely root for her, friends.

DCI Foster has a great team.
Even though Erika's boss is usually against her, her team (especially Moss and Peterson and maybe Issac) are always there for her. Even. At. Her. Worst. I love Moss because she's kind of like Erika in terms of their sense of justice. They will stop at nothing to get at the bottom of things. Peterson, on the other hand, is that support detective DCI Foster needs. Peterson would always know what to do next.

'SIO means Senior Investigating Officer. The "senior" part doesn't mean you're older [than] everyone and entitled to  ully them when the shit hits the fan. It means you take responsibility for your fuck-ups.' -loc3619, eARC

There's rivalry.
I've never read a crime mystery with rivalry. DCI Spark was immediately a red flag the moment he made his appearance. And this made things quite difficult to DCI Foster but it's all cool. It really made everything more exciting.

Descriptive writing.
Have I also mentioned how great the writing is? It's not only thrilling but it's also very descriptive. The atmosphere was there, the imagery of how the murdered was found was there, and the thrill is there. Bryndza's writing really made me think of how Andrea was murdered, how she looked like when she was found, the look on certain faces when they are interviewed.

The one thing she despised about Britain was its class system. Even in a murder investigation, it seemed that Marsh wanted the family to have some kind of VIP treatment. -loc483, eARC

Some politics involved here and there.
DCI Foster and her team are investigating the death of a socialite. She's the daughter of a wealthy man you wouldn't want to mess with and that made everything really difficult for DCI Foster. When there's money involve, you have to bet it's going to be one tough mystery to crack.

THRILLING.
It's 'a gripping serial killer thriller' what do you expect? But kiddings aside, The Girl In the Ice is completely thrilling. It had me staying waaaaaaay past my bedtime reading it. I even remember myself actually holding my breath as I go through certain pages because of the events. Bryndza's writing will really put you at the edge of your seat. It will make you turn the pages hoping to know what happens next and hoping to find out who killed Andrea Douglas-Brown.

OVERALL, The Girl In the Ice is a high recommended thriller. It has a great detective who'd do anything and everything to get to the bottom. It has a completely thrilling pace that makes it very difficult to put down. The investigation is interesting and thrilling to read. It will keep you guessing until the end.
