I haven't really finished the first Gintama but knowing that the new Gintama' which started a year ago will end next week, I believe. This sure is sad news for me.
This year's 17th issue of Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump is reporting on Monday that the Gintama television anime series is drawing to a close onTV Tokyo after five years. TV Tokyo, the primary broadcaster of the anime and one of the copyright holders, had not stated before that it was ending Gintama. The 252nd episode is titled "Gomen Nasai" (We're Sorry), although last week's next-episode preview listed the title as "To Be Determined."
Starting on April 2, the animated television series Gon will air on TV Tokyo at 6:00 p.m. on Mondays — Gintama's current timeslot.
I remember myself about a year ago when I was so hesitant in watching this anime since I believe that it's one of those overrated anime (being the number 1 ranking anime in MAL) and just pure action and whatever else I don't care about. I just had the idea of watching this when I suddenly found out that the mangaka of Gintama was actually the sensei of the mangaka of SKET Dance which I really enjoy watching.
Watching both series had been really good. Though a number of people are bashing SKET Dance for calling it some kind of knockoff of Gintama, I believe that the two of them are entirely different. The only thing similar is doing anything (as in anything). I can probably name a lot of things different from each other since I'm watching both but now's not the time for that.
Anyway, with Gintama finally ending and I won't be there to watch it right after it airs, I just hope that when I get there, it won't be disappointing. BUT then, what I'm really hoping for is for another season of Gintama some time in the future because I'm pretty sure that it's going to be another crappy last episode with just the scene outside the yorozuya and talking about random stuffs like reminiscing which is so Gintama. LOL. Oh well, I'll wish that they'll continue it. Somehow.
