Her death tore them apart. Will solving her murder bring them back together?
Best friends Landy, Tenile, Nicole, Nathan, Justin, and Kareem were the golden children of Tanner University. Their paths were set: doctors, lawyers, business moguls, they were going to light the world on fire. Then, two weeks before graduation, Landy was murdered—and Nathan was blamed. Though he was never charged, vicious rumors drove him from town, and the circle of friends broke.
Ten years later, Nathan is back in Tanner, determined to clear his name. He’s asking questions no one wants answered, and soon rumors threaten to divide the community once more. Everyone in this small town is keeping big secrets—especially Landy’s old friends—and someone is willing to kill to keep their darkest deeds buried. . . .
This is a new edition of the previously self-published title Within The Shadows.

High-end, well talked about characters. Rumors. Intriguing scandals. The whole Nathan left and went back after ten years definitely caught my attention but other than that, I'm not really sure what to expect from this book.

It's been ten years since the death of Landy Connor. Nathan received a letter stating that Landy's murderer is still out there. He as well as the rest of his college friends all met up  in an unlikely reunion. He wants answers. He wants to clear his name. Nathan wants to know the truth.

The thing is Rumors is all about its characters - the dilemma each of them is facing, the guilt they are carrying, the things they did ten years ago, the rumors circling around them. Instead of focusing on some detective work and straight-up questions about what truly happened ten years ago, A.C. Arthur reveals it to us through the stories of the characters particularly Nathan, Tenile, Nicole, Justin, and Tracy. It's an interesting story with lots of cheating and secrets.

STORYTELLING. There's a nicely written back and forth between the past and the present. It helps establish each characters - what they've been through and their relationship to each other ten years ago. It also helps in putting things together - the things that happened the night Landy was murdered. The beginning wasn't very interesting but the story gradually grew in me as it slowly unravels the things that happened between the characters. Around 50% of the book, things were getting really intriguing as it also becomes a bit thrilling along the way.

The ending was a major cliffhanger. My mind was really coming up with conclusions as bigger things were revealed but then, the climax just throws things right at me and at the end of it all I was just thinking,  now what? who really killed Landy?

OVERALL, Rumors is an intriguing scandal-filled novel. It would make you scream at some of the characters and hate them for the things they do. It'll make you curious of the things that happened years ago. It would make you turn page after page just so you'll know who killed Landy and for what reason.

What I Like: (1) the scandal among the characters (and maybe how well they can keep their secrets, haha), (2) the slow yet intriguing pacing, (3) the back and forth between the past and the present,(4) how it kept me intrigued,

What I Didn’t Like: (1) they have too much (or too heavy) secrets, how do they do it? sometimes I just want to scream at them, (2) that cliffhanger!! (this is definitely a good thing for the book though) ugh. makes me want to pull my hair!
